Interiors Trends: The Cosmos

Interiors Trends: The Cosmos

I’ve been thinking about decorating my 5-year old’s bedroom this week. I have searched the internet for the current trends and products with which I can design her bedroom. One of my favourite 2019 interior design trends is the cosmos. Initially, I supposed this was primarily a great way to decorate a child’s bedroom. However, the more I think about it and the more I look, the use of the cosmos in interior design would be a great look to bring to any room in the home.

THE COSMOS INTERIOR TREND

Looking up at the skies is the basis of the cosmos interior design or constellation as it’s also referred to. With the cosmos interior design, you can go as subtle or as bold as you like. Either adding a few choice pieces to a room or going all out galaxy! With the use of dark blues, star shapes and zodiac patterns, you can create your own cosmos!

WALLPAPER

There are so many amazing Cosmos themed wallpapers on the market at the minute. These would be great to use in a child’s bedroom or even in the hallway to create a truly galactic space!

£9.99 Per Roll – World of Wallpaper                                             £10.00 Per Roll – I Love Wallpaper

£12.00 Per Roll – B&Q                                              £16.99 Per Roll – Wallpaper Direct

FURNISHINGS

Furnishings such as cushions and candles are a great way to incorporate a particular style into the home. Whether you go all out with this design or add a few cosmos touches, these items are perfect.

£11.50 – Fruggo                                                                                  £17.75 – Mano Mano

£3.95 – Rex London                                                                           £14.80 – OnBuy.com

£20.00 – Amazon

FURNITURE

Using deep blue colours, you can create the perfect cosmos space in the home. Blue is an ideal colour to use in any room in the home, it encourages relaxation and unwinding. (See my recent post: The Psychology of Colours: Using Colours in the Home). The use of dark blue, reminiscent of the night sky creates the perfect tranquil ambience.

£229.00 – Cult Furniture                                                                    £999.00 – Zurleys

 £299.00 – Oak Furniture Superstore                                       £189.00 – Cuckooland

LIGHTING

With the effective use of lighting, you can create your very own galaxy!

£26.55 – The Home Lighting Centre                                           £11.99 – Amazon

Have you been inspired by the stars? What are your thoughts on this interior design?

Oh woahhh! This is so gnarly I didn’t even know cosmo designs were trending 😀 I love so many of the pieces lol if I lived on my own I’d def get one of those couches or chairs, the color is so rich and nice. I have a giant chair in my room my mom bought, I mean it’s nice but I’m getting tired of the print lol. I also really like the little candle holders and the star lamp. Great post hun! 😀

Love this I was looking for something similar for my son’s room. He is 5 and autistic and I wanted something calming for him and looked at that exact wallpaper. He’s got a massive sea life interest though so.opted for that but love these ideas ❤️

Thank you Michelle! I never thought of the calming aspect of this decor, but it would work so well on this level xxx
