We moved house earlier this year and decided to throw out all of our old Christmas decorations to buy new for our new home. Traditionally, we put our tree up on 1st December. This means I have merely days left to buy my Christmas decorations! Fortunately, every store is filled with beautiful Christmas decorations, so I have a huge amount of choice. My problem is, I seem to like them all! I’ve now created a Christmas decorations wish list which includes some of my favourites!
Christmas Trees
First of all, I needed to find a tree. I really don’t want to pay a fortune for a tree. I like a nice simple artificial tree I can fill with beautiful Christmas decorations. This tree from B & Q ticks all boxes for me. And at 7 ft tall, it’s sure to make a beautiful feature in our home.
Marks and Spencer have a bargain of a deal! For £35, you can have a 6ft tree, baubles and lights. (A selection of colour baubles are available).
Snow covered Christmas trees have become increasingly popular this year. This tree from Argos is beautiful and is reduced from £60.00 to £39.99!
Some of my friends prefer to have a real Christmas tree. Ikea currently has an amazing offer if you’re looking for a real tree. You receive a £20 gift voucher (to spend 14th January – 3rd March 2019) when you buy a tree for £25! What an excellent deal!
Wreaths
My husband hates wreaths. He says they remind him of funerals! So we’ve made a compromise – I can have a non-traditional wreath! I tried to make a bauble wreath last year but was terribly unsuccessful. Debenhams have a beautifully coloured bauble wreath which will look amazing on our front door.
This felt wreath from John Lewis will certainly bring a contemporary feel into your home. I love the Christmas colours in this wreath. It would make a perfect Christmas decoration!
Matalan has an excellent collection of Christmas decorations this year. This heart shaped wreath styled white with pine cones really caught my eye.
If you’re looking for a more traditional wreath, Next have a beautiful selection. I love pine cones and frosted leaves. They really do signal Christmas for me. This wreath is my favourite from the large selection at Next.
Christmas Decorations for the Tree
I’m not going to feature baubles in my list. There are so many baubles out there for bargain prices, I’d have a hard time figuring out which ones to include. Instead, I’m going to show you some of the beautiful Christmas tree ornaments I have found.
My daughters love the 1993 movie, The Night Before Christmas. I thought a perfect addition to our Christmas decoration collection would be a tree ornament from the film.
My mother has had a robin on her Christmas tree for as long as I can remember. It’s rather worn now with one of its legs falling off a few years back. Robins always remind me of Christmas and I love decorating my tree with them. Studio sells a pack of 4 robins, they’ll look perfect and will help me to continue a family tradition in my own home.
Unicorns seem to be all the rage at the moment. I know that many of my friends (let alone their children) will be so excited I have found these to decorate their trees!
Christmas Ornaments
Paperchase has the most amazing Christmas decorations this year. If you’re looking for something that is truly unique, take a look at what they have on offer. This beautiful wooden Christmas tree comes with 24 colourful ornaments.
I love the idea of decorating my home with mini Christmas trees. I’m buying a whole bunch of them this year! Another adorable tree comes from Debenhams and has all the sparkle of Christmas!
I always try and incorporate some traditional Christmas decorations into my Christmas decor. I have found a beautiful nativity scene from TK Maxx. The figures are wrapped in angel wings. For me, it represents what Christmas is all about.
And finally, Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a light-up reindeer! B & M has once again offered us a fabulous Christmas decoration in the form of this beautiful white reindeer. And at a bargain price too!
Let me know if you have a favourite amongst my wish list!
I looooove the pre-lit fake trees! They’re lit so evenly and are aesthetically pleasing haha
