A Timeless Timepiece. My Nordgreen Native Silver Watch

Design

Nordgreen was established in 2017 by friends Pascar and Vasilij who sought to offer Scandinavian fashion through their high-quality watches. Teaming up with the famous Scandinavian designer, Jakob Wagner, they have realised their vision and now produce exquisite Scandinavian watch pieces with Danish fashion in mind. One of the hallmarks of Danish design is minimalist fashion and this, coupled with high quality, has made Nordgreen an increasingly successful watch brand.

The design of each watch follows the principle of simple fashion.

Not only can you purchase a single unit watch, but Nordgreen also offer bundles which include a single timepiece with a selection of straps.

Choosing your Nordgreen Watch

It is not an easy feat to choose a Nordgreen watch. Indeed it is an extremely exciting process! Currently, Nordgreen offer 5 different watch collections – Native, Philosopher, Pioneer, Infinity and Vegan and each are incredibly beautiful and perfectly designed. Every watch comes with removable straps. These straps can be used with watches in other collections to create some really unique pieces.

When choosing your watch, you are free to customise the product. You can choose from a variety of different colour clock faces. These vary according to the design collection, however, they usually include silver, gold, rose gold, navy and black. For further customisation, you can also choose the material of the watch strap. Materials include nylon, mesh, leather and vegan leather. You can also customise the watch strap according to colour. Colours range from silver, gold, rose gold, black, brown and navy.

Each watch comes in a variety of sizes. I have rather large wrists and I prefer larger watches, so I opted for the 40mm watch diameter. The watch sits perfectly on my wrist. If you prefer a smaller watch, you can opt for the smaller 38mm or 32mm clock face.

I opted for a silver strap as I wanted this watch to be one of my fashion essentials. A watch I can wear every day which will match each and every one of my outfits. Since the COVID 19 pandemic, I have been considering just how many items of clothes and fashion accessories I have. I decided to clear out my wardrobes and clutter and follow the capsule wardrobe method – focusing on key staple fashion items. My silver watch is certainly one of my new staple items.

To make the watch unique to me and my own personal style, I chose the navy clock face. To me, this gives my watch a touch of originality and suits my own personal fashion style while retaining the minimalist fashion style of the Nordgreen watch collections.

I am utterly in love with my Native watch and absolutely love the design and the colours. The watch is designed for not only style but also comfort.

You would be hard-pressed to find a newly established company with such a mission in mind. The ethos of Nordgreen defines the term ethical fashion in their process of giving back to the world on the back of their success.

This feel-good feeling of giving something back to the world is not just enjoyed by Pas and Vas. Each of their customers is given the opportunity of choosing how the money generated from the purchase of their watch is spent. By entering the serial number of the watch onto the website, the customer then selects one of three charities.

In selecting ‘Water for Good’ two months of clean water is given to a person in Africa. If Prantham UK is opted, one month of education is provided for a child in India. If the customers choose to donate the money to Cool Earth, 50 sqm is protected in South America. All three are equally extremely important causes and whichever you choose, the donation will make a profound difference.

Eco-Friendly Products

Nordgreen considers the environment throughout their watchmaking process as well as when delivering their products to their customers. Sustainable fashion is another hallmark of the company. Nordgreen works with sustainable manufacturers and also ensure that their packaging is recyclable. The cardboard used in the packaging process is sourced from responsibly managed forests. In planting thousands of trees, Nordgreen is Carbon neutral.

In addition to these steps, Nordgreen also offers vegan leather watch straps. We all must be our bit to save the environment and although we have much more work to do, Nordgreen is a shining example of how companies can be more eco-friendly.

Delivery was incredibly quick. My watch arrived the day after I had ordered. The watch arrived in a beautiful box with a tool to change the size of the strap.
