The Selfie Bag from Cotton Bag Co

Every photo I seem to have in my phone nowadays is a selfie. Not usually of me, but of one of my daughters always looking to catch the perfect image of themselves. They know the correct angle to hold the phone to capture the essence of their beauty. My girls know which is their “good side”. They somehow know their best angle, how to smile and how to hold their face in every single pose.

Furthermore, they understand the importance of good light in creating that perfect selfie shot. I, on the other hand was born in 1984. My first mobile phone was used for phone calls and perhaps the odd text. Each text cost 10p. My huge Nokia complete with an ariel had no internet, no camera and the only game I could play was “snake” (if you remember Snake, you know it’s an absolute classic). I wasn’t brought up on smart phones and selfies and to make matters worse, I didn’t seem to pick up how to use the many features of a smart phone as they came along. As a result, I’ve lagged behind!

However, since I have received my Selfie Bags from Cotton Bag Co (one in canvas and one in jute), I’ve been given somewhat of an education on selfies. If you’re a selfie Queen, or if, like me, you have a lot to learn about the art of selfies, then this is the perfect bag for you!

The Selfie Bag from Cotton Bag Co

The Selfie Bag from Cotton Bag Co includes everything you need to create the perfect selfie. And I absolutely love it!

Firstly, each bag contains an LED ring light. I might be a selfie newbie, but I do undestand the importance of good lighting in photography. For my blog photos, I recently invested in a 12″ ring light. I had no idea they came in miniature form that could be clipped to a phone!

I love this idea. The LED ring light comes complete with a charging lead, so you won’t have to worry about replacing a battery. There are three light settings to create the perfect light for your shot.

The bag also contains a pop up reflector. This can be folded down and housed in its own special mini bag.

This is a fantastic piece of equipment which really does improve the quality of your images.

To create that perfect shot, the selfie bag includes a selfie stick. It uses bluetooth to connect to your smart phone. But this is a selfie stick with a difference – firstly, it includes a remote control! This makes taking those selfies so much easier. Secondly, the selfie stick can be used as a tripod.

This makes taking all sorts of shots – selfies, family photos, and shots for my blogging work so much easier. I don’t have to hold my phone with the selfie stick in order to take a picure. The phone can be set onto the tripod and then I can use the remote control giving myself even more scope to create the perfect shot.

I honselty absolutely adore this gadget! I’m thinking of all the ways I can use this marvellous piece of equipment on my travels (hopefully) in the near future! Having the phone further away enables you to capture the right angle. It’s also a really handy gadget to have if you want to create a family or group selfie.

The selfie bag also comes with a selfie guide including tips from Kim Kardashian!

All of this wonderful equipment comes in either a colourful canvas or jute bag.

The Cotton Bag Company offer high quality printed bags at affordable prices. I absolutely love the colours and designs of their unique bags. The bags are very durable yet at the same time incredibly trendy. These beautiful and colourful bags are the perfect place to store all your selfie equipment – and more!

I really cannot wait for the current Covid restrictions to end. My family and I are looking forward to enjoying our annual road trips once again. But now, I’ll be taking my selfie bag so I can bring along all my selfie essentials!

Tips for Using Your the Equipment From Your Selfie Bag

Tilting:

Either tilt your head to the side or up and down. Or else tilt the angle of your phone while using your selfie stick. Experiment with tilting both your head and phone to find the perfect angle.

Keep Away from the Lens!

This is why the selfie stick is a wonderous tool. Selfies are better when your face isn’t too close to the lens. The parts of your face that are the largest, e.g. nose and eyebrows will look larger in a selfie if your face is too close to the lens.

Smile:

Quite a lot of photos I see on social media are of people who seemingly have lost the ability to smile. Their lips tend to be puckered (like a duck) or they look as though they’re frowning. Nothing is better on a face than a beautiful smile. We’ve all got them, we just need to flaunt them!

Loosen up:

Selifes don’t have to be serious – pull a face, laugh, cheer, just make your selfie animated and fun. Make each shot a true reflection of your inner self.

Make Each Selfie Different:

When you look through your old phones in 10 years time, you want your photos to tell a story, the story of you. If in every one of your selfies you make the exact same pose, consider what will that say about you? Just as every day is different, make every selfie different!

Experiment with Poses:

In each different pose, you use different face muscles to create a different look. Try out different poses and choose from amongst your favouriutes. Opening your mouth to smile will create a totally different selfie to a smile with your mouth closed. Opening your mouth to smile will make your eyes and cheeks look different.

Hiding Double Chins!

If you’re like me and have a double chin (or a few double chins in my case) extend your neck forwards. Hold the phone or camera above you look up at the camera to disguise double chins.

So if you’d like to improve your selfie game, grab yourself a selfie bag from Cotton Bag Co. The Selfie Bag would also make the perfect gift!
