My Top 5 Ghost-Hunting TV Shows

As a paranormal investigator, I love to watch ghost-hunting TV shows. Watching them cannot only give me some tips and tricks of the trade, but they also make me aware of new equipment and techniques used in the field. Furthermore, as I have an interest in all things paranormal, I find these shows entertaining and enjoyable to watch.

I’ve put together a list of my top 5 ghost-hunting TV shows!

1. Ghost Adventures

I religiously watch Ghost Adventures every Sunday night, it’s a tradition my husband and I indulge in! In my opinion, this is the best ghost-hunting TV show there is. Hosted and produced by Zak Bagans, this show brings all the latest technology on each and every hunt. Zak is joined by his fellow seasoned investigators, Aaron Goodwin, Billy Tolley and Jay Wasley. Each episode takes the crew to a different location in America.

The investigations range from people’s homes to museums and historic landmarks. The Ghost Adventures crew are renowned for putting themselves into spiritually dangerous situations to gain evidence of the paranormal. Thanks to their reputation in the field, they have investigated some of America’s most haunted locations, including Eastern State Penitentiary, Rolling Hills Asylum and the Lizzie Borden House to name but a few.

The crew have captured some amazing evidence over their 10 years of investigating and have aired over 200 episodes!

Ghost Adventures airs in the UK on the TV channel Really.

2. Help! My House is Haunted

This is a relatively new ghost hunting TV show which began to air in 2018. It follows the adventures of 3 investigators as they travel the length and breadth of Britain.

The show, created by Zak Bagans of Ghost Adventures, focuses on smaller-scale hauntings, such as homes or pubs as opposed to more well known haunted locations the likes of Ghost Adventures usually investigate. I particularly enjoy this show as one of the investigators is a spiritual medium. Chris Fleming is an internationally renowned medium and his readings are normally verified throughout the investigation. Chris is joined by his fellow investigators, Sandy Lakdar and Barri Ghai.

Help! My House is Haunted airs in the UK on the TV Channel Really.

3. Paranormal Lockdown

Former Ghost Adventures crew member, Nick Groff alongside his fellow investigator, Katrina Weidman present this rather exciting show. The duo spend 72 hours per episode “locked down” in a haunted location. I must say, this form of investigating yields some interesting results. Spending a consistent amount of time seems to elicit more paranormal evidence and the team can fully emerge themselves in the investigation.

Like many others, this ghost hunting TV show introduces new technology to the paranormal field as the duo experiment with different pieces of equipment.

Paranormal Lockdown airs on Quest in the UK.

4. Ghost Mine

This ghost hunting show only ran for 2 seasons with a total of 18 episodes, however, it was an amazing show with a very different premise.

2 paranormal investigators, Patrick Doyle and Kirsten Luman were employed to investigate a reportedly haunted gold mine. The spirits of the mine had been causing problems for the miners. The episodes followed the long term investigation of the mine and the amazing evidence captured by the duo.

I was extremely disappointed when this show was cancelled, nevertheless, the two seasons are well worth a watch!

Ghost Mine was originally created by and aired on Syfy America. It has been since aired on Destination America in the USA.

5. Haunted Collector

The lead investigator of this show is John Zaffis. John has over four decades of experience in the paranormal field and is a well-respected investigator.

The Haunted Collector and his team (which includes two of his children) travel to various homes through the USA to investigate the paranormal. John has a firm belief in the theory that objects can hold spirit energy and this cause a haunting and in particular, poltergeist activity. If this is the case, once the item is removed, the spirit(s) are removed from the home. So strong is John’s conviction that he stores hundreds of haunted items in his ‘museum’ which is located on his property in Connecticut.

There is little that scares John as he undertakes his mission to assist those who are plagued by visitors from the spirit world.

The Haunted Collector is aired on the TV Channel Really in the UK.
