Lego Movie 2 Premier

Lego Movie 2 Premier

A friend of mine won VIP tickets to attend the premiere of the Lego Movie 2 screening at Legoland Discovery Centre at the Trafford Centre last night. To our delight, Aurelia and I were invited.

We arrived at the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre at 6 pm and a small group of us had access to the entire discovery centre. This being the first time Aurelia and I had been to Legoland, it was quite a treat!

We stood in awe at the mini Lego cities and Aurelia considered how long it had taken to build these wonderful displays!

The children explored the space station.

Aurelia played on the go-kart track. To my surprise, she was rather good!

The kids took their turns on the climbing wall (an activity Aurelia has always wanted to try).

THE LEGO MOVIE DAYS

We were honoured to be the first to explore the new Legoland event – “The Lego Movie Days”. The centre was filled with Lego movie-related activities.

Aurelia tried her hand at making her own Lego movie.

The highlight of the evening! Aurelia was thrilled to meet the characters from the Lego movie, including Emmet, Benny, Wyldstyle, Lucy and (her new favourite character from the new movie) – Sweet Mayhem.

After a fun-filled hour, we were then invited to take our seats in the auditorium. With arms filled with popcorn, drinks and snacks we took our seats and watched the new Lego movie.

Aurelia was ecstatic to know that she had seen the film the day before it was released at the cinema (in fact she has bragged about this to everyone in school!)

The movie is excellent! We cannot recommend it enough! Aurelia and I are huge fans of the previous Lego movies. On the other hand, my friend and her daughter had not seen the previous films and were not sure what to expect. They thoroughly enjoyed the film too and felt no disadvantage from not seeing the previous films.

The children were given goodie bags to take home and waved goodbye to their favourite characters from the movie.

I cannot believe we had not visited the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre before! It was such an amazing place. Because of our wonderful experience, we will definitely be making a return visit. The staff were extremely friendly. What made the event even more memorable, was the excitement of the staff – they were just as excited to see the movie as the children were!

I’ve never seen any of the Lego Movies (think I’m probably a bit old!) but this sounds like such a great evening! All that stuff they had for the kids to do is amazing too. Some Lego structures are an actual work of art.

Oh wow! What a great and fun opportunity to do something special with your daughter! I’m glad they went all out to make it really interactive and memorable for the kids too, not just showing up and watching a movie. It sounds like the sort of thing she’ll remember forever.

    • February 14, 2019 / 10:06 pm

She’s not stopped talking about it since! As you say, I hope she will remember it for a long time xxx

Omg!! This looks like total fun! I’m such a big kid sometimes, I know for sure I would’ve had as much of a wonderful time as Aurelia! I’d love to go to a premier for a movie as exciting as this lol. The wall climbing looks really nifty and I’m still always amazed at Lego structures and all the beautiful things they get to build. Great post hun, I’m glad you guys had a wonderful experience!
