There are so many gifts on offer for 5-year-olds it can become rather difficult to narrow down just exactly what to buy. I’ve been shopping today for my 5-year-old, Aurelia. It asked her what she wanted for Christmas and she literally circled every page in every catalogue.
Using my own initiative, I headed to the shops with a vague notion of the items she would play with the most. I was surprised to find some great deals on children’s toys and bagged a lot for my money!
For the past two Christmases, I have purchased a number of items from the Kidizoom range. These products are created with kids in mind! They are hard-wearing, durable and great quality items providing hours upon hours of entertainment. I decided to go with a brand I know and trust to once again buy some much-loved toys.
All the products featured below are available in pink and blue!
Last Christmas I bought Aurelia a Kidizoom phone. She had been asking for a phone for a while, she has a 17-year-old sister who has one, so why shouldn’t she have one? (Was her argument!).
To my surprise, she has played with the phone consistently. The Kidiconnect app can be downloaded to our phones for free. This means Aurelia can send endless amounts of messages to us. The phone does not make/receive calls (thankfully) but does allow the child to send and receive word messages as well as send, take and receive pictures. My husband is the ‘admin’ of the app. Only he can add/allow people to connect with Aurelia on the phone, so it’s a brilliant safety feature! Furthermore, Aurelia feels like she has a proper phone!
Aurelia loves her camera. As I’m a keen amateur photographer myself, my camera barely leaves my side. Aurelia now brings along her very own Kidizoom camera on all our outings. It has been dropped, kicked, landed in the odd puddle and 12 months later it is still going strong! We’ve created countless memories with Aurelia’s camera. She can also play games and add filters to her selfies (just like her big sister).
Kidizoom Selfie Camera
This Christmas, we’ve treated Aurelia to a selfie-cam. Although her camera (featured above) does have a selfie camera, I thought this camera which includes a selfie stick will bring her some additional fun.
Kidizoom Smart Watch
I wanted to buy Aurelia a watch this year. She has been learning how to tell the time and has been asking for a watch for some time now. I had looked at other children’s watches, but I think she is still too young for a traditional watch. I spotted the Kidizoom watch in Smyths and thought this would probably be more suitable for my 5-year-old. Not only can the watch give you the time, but also takes photos and includes games as well!
Our final Kidizoom gift for Aurelia this year will be the Kidizoom ‘Flix’. To be honest, I had no idea what this was when I initially saw it in Argos, so I searched online to find out more. The toy is described an ‘alien’ that detects faces and can repeat phrases you teach it. Sat on a twisting tripod, it is designed to be worn on the shoulder or to be left on a flat surface. This interactive toy allows you to ‘spy’ on others. It has a camera and includes a range of games.
