About Lellalee

Lellalee was created for all of my fellow mothers, wives, historians, writers, ghost investigators and explorers around the world. My love of all of these labels I pin on myself has inspired me to create this blog and to share my experiences, and so my new and exciting additional label is ‘blogger’.

I have had and still live a hectic life wearing many and varied hats at once – this blog was designed to explore all of the different paths life takes us on, and to document the life of a somewhat ‘ordinary’ individual.

First of all, I don’t wear expensive clothing, my hair is 90% of the time ‘unsatisfactory’ and my make-up leaves a lot to be desired (both the application of it and the state of it). I have no idea how to contour, or indeed what it is and my body is a tent rather than a temple … it’s a working progress … or as I like to think of it -an unfinished masterpiece! These are things I hope to improve upon as I ‘grow up’.

I am a 39-year-old mother of two daughters and a wife. I am a qualified medieval historian having completed my PhD in 2016. I have been working as a freelance writer for the past 10 years, as well as writing professionally as a historian. My PhD thesis was on gender and the Crusades, so if anyone would like to be bored to tears just mention either of those two words and I will be happy to oblige!

My true passion is family – I enjoy documenting all of our moments together and sharing our adventures with others. I haven’t as yet convinced myself that having two children 12 years apart was the wisest of decisions. But I believe I’m coming dangerously close to making it all work well – if I find the winning formula to raising a teen and a toddler, or indeed children generally I’ll be sure to share!

To add a few random facts I’m a super Monty Python fan and a lover of J.R.R. Tolkien and all his works. Ok, let me re-phrase that – I’m obsessed with Monty Python and Tolkien! When I get a chance to watch the T.V. it’s usually time spent watching paranormal shows. Or history documentaries (so I can point out where they’re going wrong) – I’m the world’s greatest critic!

I live near Manchester.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for visiting my blog, I hope you find it interesting, informative and inspiring. If you leave the blog having enjoyed reading something, I have met my aim. Sending love, happiness and positivity.
